• There is severe compression and loss of height of several thoracic vertebral bodies. This mainly affects the anterior endplates in keeping with osteoporotic fractures. There is low signal within the disc space itself tracking into the fracture clefts, best seen on CT consistent with gas-vacuum cleft.
• The findings are in keeping with Kummels disease or osteonecrosis of the vertebral body with background longstanding fracture.
