Spine Week 11 Case 8

• There is almost complete loss of height of L3 with disruption of the neural arch on the right and circumferential bulging suggestive of a burst fracture. There is disruption of the ALL but the PLL appears to be intact.
• There is however prominent retropulsion of the posterior portion of the vertebral body into the spinal canal which is causing severe spinal canal stenosis and compression of the cauda equina nerve roots. There is a small volume extradural haematoma / collection. There is compression of the cauda equina nerve roots.
