Spine Week 12 Case 1

History: 63 years old with progressive weakness
Findings: At T2/T3 there is a solitary left-sided intradural extramedullary mass which displaces and compresses the spinal cord causing subtle focal myelopathic cord signal change. It has a dural base, is relatively hypointense on T2-weighted sequences, and enhances homogeneously.
There is no intracranial tumour.
There are mild spondylotic changes in the lumbar spine that do not cause any neural compression.
Opinion: Thoracic cord compression due to an intradural extramedullary lesion. The appearances are consistent with a solitary meningioma.
