• There is erosion of the inferior endplate of T9, and superior endplate of T10. the features would be quite consistent with T9-T10 discitis. Both vertebral bodies show diffuse oedema-like marrow signal with widespread endplate erosion and fluid in the disc. A small disc bulge is noted, but there is no posterior epidural abscess identified and no evidence of cord compression. The remainder of the imaged spinal column appears unremarkable, apart from relatively mild multilevel degenerative disc disease. There is still evidence of a right-sided sub-pleural collection, but this appears to be much smaller than on the external study although it has not been completely imaged. There is likely to be a degree of collapse/consolidation of the underlying lung. No other significant abnormality has been identified.
• Conclusion: Features consistent with T9-T10 discitis and a right-sided sub-pleural paravertebral abscess, but no evidence of epidural abscess or cord compression.
